Hello,

I plan to install some garden pillar lights but I need to fix them to a solid surface. I plan on installing them in both my front and back garden which are both on a slope.

I did plan to dig into the slope and level it out with either some bricks or something (maybe concreted to the ground) and the top it with some timber which will be used to fix my lights to.

Being in the garden, timbers probably not my best bet. I'm thinking maybe some hardiebacker cement board? Looks like I could use their adhesive to bond the boards to the bricks...

Any better suggestions?

Ah, really.... that's a shame. Any other ideas?

I did think about a paving slab but didn't know if they'd break when I screw into them?

I think they'd be too thick. I'm after more of a sheet material. Suppose I could use decking but I know this doesn't last forever.
