Does anyone know where i can buy a garden strimmer with blades instead of the nylon cord?

Thanks

Google "brush cutter" instead of strimmer.

Gaz :)

You'll need a heavier duty machine for brush cutting......this will be the straight shank type rather than the bendy one. The drive bar is solid, rather than a thick Bowden cable type drive.

Thanks
Been looking on ebay at brush cutters and most seem to be petrol or heaver duty ones where i just need a smallish one for the garden.
It's to replace a flymo with nylon cord which breaks every 10 seconds when it hits the stones and concrete edging even though the cord is heavy duty?

Can't really comment on that one, but only use the recommended cord for the machine.....if it's too heavy it prevents the machine reaching top speed, and can shoot cord out of the reel which can cause snapping.

Brushcutters are for clearing rough wild area of weeds etc or very long grass.

The strimmer cord is breaking because you are forcing it against hard surfaces not nice soft grass. You either need to use lower revs and a finer cord or edge it traditionally with an iron.

People often use a strimmer as an edger but its designed to cut grass not gouge through earth/ gravel.

When your cord hits gravel it breaks, if you hit gravel with a blade it will send the gravel flying at a rate of knots and usually it magnetically seems to zoom towards the nearest window/vehicle.
