I have a Robinson Willey gas fire.
The pilot light goes out intermittently (not due to wind) and after approx 5 mins the fire (when on) itself goes out.
Funny thing is when the cover is off it seems to work fine!

Any ideas please?

Thanx

Which model is is ? And what cover are you removing ?

Never worked on this model but could be a number of things (blocked lint filter, thermo-couple, pilot flame not set right, flue seals etc) best be on the safe side and get a corgi in.

Thanx. Ivevchanged a few Thermo-couples before. I may try that first.
Can my symptoms be as a result of a failing thermo-couple?

Has it got an atmospheric sensing device fitted, if so get an RGI to deal with it !!

good post from wiggikins, a lot of the firegems have OSD/ASD assembly and MUST NOT be interfered with, the appliance might be spilling POC's and the OSD is working properly and shutting the fire down, when the room is ventilated again the appliance will lght again, GET IT CHECKED ASAP
