gas fittings on water pipe

is it ok to repair a 25mm pe water pipe with a 25mm galv joiner designed for gas pipe (george fisher)

if it dont leak its ok :)

I am sure thats fine, people throw teddies out of prams if you do it vice versy
 
Just make sure the fitting doesn't have any coatings on that may leach into the water. Gas fittings are not supposed to be used on water pipe, especially not the yellow palstic ones. Should be OK with galv though.

Go and get a proper coupler, it will only be a couple of quid and you'll have peace of mind.

you we dont offer an easy simple solution if there is a long winded convoluted one on the go.

come on get into the spirit of the thing, I dont know, plumbers these days with thier "straightforward" advice. Where will it all end.
