I am refitting my kitchen. Previously I had a gas hob with a supply for the electronic ignition to a powerpoint on the wall. In the new configuration this is not possible. I have a spur under the cabinets but where do I put the powerpoint. Is it acceptable to put a dry lining box in one of the cupboard walls, can I remove the plug and use a junction box? I am conscious that some fluid etc may drop from the hob?

Thanks.

Do you mean you have an unused switched or unswitched fused control unit under the work top where you want the hob to locate. If so then yes you can either cut off the plug & connect to it or alternativly swop the fcu face plate for a single switched socket.
