Hi,

Maybe a silly question but here goes: i am about to put in a new kitchen extractor and would like an integrated hood that blends with the wall cabinets.

I am concerned however, that when i use the front gas hobs, it could damage the hood cupboard (if i do not open it).

Can this really cause damage and be at risk or would i be advised to open it every time i cook on the front gas hobs??

Cheers,G

The gas hob's instructions will specify a minimum height and side clearance above the hob, taking the temperatures into account.

It also depends on what the cabinets are made of/finished with.

What is the point of installing one if you do not use it properly?

I was told I have to put something there but its very noisy so I would probably only use it if I was cooking a big meal or something smoky!

The cabinet is howdens so maybe i can presume it is built fine?
