Hi Guys.

I've just brought a property and i'm going to convert it to some flats. There is a main gas meter in the hallway.

How do i go about providing each of the 3 flats within the house their own gas supply. Could each flat have its own meter. Who would do this (could it be a RGI), what would it involve, and what would be approx cost.

Thanks

You will need to contact a gas shipper such as BritishGas. They can provide a quote for the installation of the supply gas pipe and three gas meters.

Your exisiting incoming gas pipe may not be big enough to cope with the load requirements of three flats, if so it will have to be replaced. The incoming gas pipe and location of the gas meters will be subject to compliance with current gas safety regulations.

You may be looking at something around £5k plus for this.
