Obviously, you don't understand the importance of burner pressure on some appliances John.

Meter workers should visually check fluing,ventilation and flame picture on all appliances. They have to react to any causes of concern.

all they are required to do is purge and relight and look for the obvious , this is not defined as work according to the book so if anything not blatatantly obvious is at fault they cannot be held responsible

Legionella grows quicker as the water gets hotter, until it gets so hot they start dying quicker. If memory serves, 50 is where it gets less pleasant for them, and at 60, they die within the hour.

Have you got a boiler with a pilot light?

My guess is the guy changed the meter, came in to relight the boiler and tweaked the boiler stat up a bit! I'll bet my grans teeth on it.
