Gas pipe - paperwork?

Hi,
I am going to get a gas safe engineer to disconnect and cap a pipe that runs to an unused gas fire. Pipe will be disconnected next to the meter.

Should the engineer give me any specific paperwork when it is complete?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Am invoice and that's it.

He may or may not give you a test report but it isn't required.

There is no legal requirement for an annual home owner's safety check record..

there is a legal requirement to carry out a landlords gas safety inspection every 12 months if the property is let out, there is no requirement for a home owner, to have a safety inspection carried out, if they want one done and are willing to pay then that is fine, but no legal requirement, some people ask for one if selling their house

That’s where the confusion lies then, it was a while ago when I asked. Thought it was homeowners as well Thanks Ian.

I must be honest tho, every time I do any gas work in a private home I fill in a report, mostly to confirm to the customer that I have done the tests and safety checks that I was supposed to. I find it adds to a new customer's confidence too.
