Gas Pipe Within Concrete Floor ?

I have reclaimed an area 2m x 3m from my old heating system to use as living space in the corner of my room. The level of the floor is 100mm below the rest of the room and this \\\'hole\\\' still contains the now redirected gas pipe which will become covered on filling the hole.

I aim to use an upturned 1/2 section of thick metal pipe to cover the gas pipe for extra safety, put some old broken brick at the bottom of the hole, then use a cement/sand mix on top to bring it up to level with the rest of the room.

Any more experienced advice on this greatly welcomed as its all very new to me !

Absolutely must not have any compression fittings in it.
Wrap with the nasty gooey tape that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head.
Has to be min 75mm below surface assuming your're not driving over it (again without refering to the book).
Best to bed with sand too, but not compulsopy as tape allows for expansion as well as protecting from corrosion.

PS. If you can't get the depth just make a duct around it with a lid. Needs to be vented (yet again offtop of shiny head). No more -24's nearly on!

Must be no joints in the floor, then wrapped in "Denso Tape" after the pipe has been tested.

Now for the interesting part, If you cover the pipe with

an upturned 1/2 section of thick metal pipe to cover the gas pipe for extra safety

it is forming a duct which must be vented both ends.
