Hi,

First time here but could someone advise me please. I had an internal gas pipe in my kitchen replaced a few years ago when I had a new boiler fitted. I know that the guy used lead solder which I have been told recently is not allowed because it reacts with the gas. Is this correct. I plan to rent my house out and I am concerned about it so if necessary I will get the pipe replaced by a competent plumber. Can someone advise please. Thanks.

Nope, leaded solder on Gas is fine. As long as it's been done correctly of course and it's passed it's integrity tests.

Non leaded is to be used on potable water.
