Gas pressure dropping, significantly.

Read your contract with them. Anything mentioning gas supply pipes read very carefully. Then get on the phone to them.

Unless it was totally broken down then they could have tested working pressure etc beforehand .
Cracked plate resulting in a dangerous do not use sounds very strange

Apologies, it was the insulation panel that was cracked. The combustion seal was also in poor condition.

@oldduffer it's an older house, no new builds close by

with those faults they could quite easily have tested the pressures before hand,

Asked for a copy of the pre install survey, should they have tested the pressure at the boiler and potentially been able to pick up on the low pressure?

they have listed the standing as 21 and operating at 20, assuming mb, Would I be correct in saying that this will be the pressure at the meter itself as opposed to the boiler?

It could be either, so wrong to assume. Although some say operating pressure at the boiler is the burner pressure (which not all combi‘s have).

if they have listed standing and operating as 21 and 20 then this would suggest they tested it working. possibly just at meter ,But possibly just ticking boxes
its pretty basic stuff that you would never just use a working pressure at the meter as this tell you next to nothing about what is actually being delivered at the boiler and the inlet pressure at boiler should have been checked also .

Also, some boilers have their test point on their gas valve, there can be quite substantial drops by the time the gas has negotiated the the valve, manu's usually publish them in their install instructions.
Eg, there may be as much as a 3mb drop in pressure between gas valve inlet, and test point when the boiler is working at max rate.

Issue has been resolved this AM, a new engineer came out and noticed instantly that the connection between the gas pipe and the boiler was loose.

now tightened and pressure is fine. Whole thing has been an absolute joke.

Aside from the Engineer who attended this AM, who was excellent.
