where you said

"" I found the bottle with regulator on it in a clear out so I know nothing about it; maybe it dose not have a regulator on it ""
You are literally playing with fire ( and possibly explosion ) due to your lack of knowledge about how to use gas cylinders.

Find a qualified person to examine the equipment and advise you on the safe use of bottled gas.

Why was the cylinder in a collection of items being cleared out ? Was it safe to use in it's "as found" condition. ?

For starters :-

LPG cylinders

Cylinders should be stored preferably in the open air on a concrete or load-bearing surface. Flammable liquids, combustible, corrosive, oxidising materials, toxic materials or compressed gas cylinders should be kept separate from LPG containers in general. Containers should be stored with their valves uppermost. The maximum size of any stack should not exceed 30,000 kg. For storage indoors, no more than 5000 kg may be stored in each purpose designed building compartment and a maximum of five compartments may exist in a single building.

Thanks for that info; anything about pipe fitting and gas safety checks and stuff?
