when i get my gas cooker installed should i get a carbon monoxide detector fitted ?? i already have smoke alarms in hall .

wont do any harm.

smoke alarm isnt going to alert you to carbon monoxide

I would, bar a living flame effect fire appliances don't get much more potentially harmful than a gas hob. 8 kw or so of heat input and no flue whatsoever

How big is kitchen? Has it got opening door or window. If not you will need purpose fitted gas air vent to outside.

kitchen about 6 meters by 4 meters and has a vent to outside 9x6 approx , 2 large windows and a door

Thats ok then. Thought I'd just check as I do a lot of cooker/hob installs in very small terrace house kitchens that need extra ventilation
