when i get my gas cooker installed should i get a carbon monoxide detector fitted ?? i already have smoke alarms in hall .

wont do any harm.

smoke alarm isnt going to alert you to carbon monoxide
 
I would, bar a living flame effect fire appliances don't get much more potentially harmful than a gas hob. 8 kw or so of heat input and no flue whatsoever :!:
 
How big is kitchen? Has it got opening door or window. If not you will need purpose fitted gas air vent to outside.

kitchen about 6 meters by 4 meters and has a vent to outside 9x6 approx , 2 large windows and a door
 
Thats ok then. Thought I'd just check as I do a lot of cooker/hob installs in very small terrace house kitchens that need extra ventilation :)
