will the pilot extinguish on an older typr multifunction gas valve (this was on an old Burmada BBU, with orange lights in the fire front) when the power is turned off?
eer!, dont know what model it is but the story goes
had to go around to a frinds house as a fuse had blown on the fuzzy spuzzy for the heating system, got there checked boiler, pilot was out, relit pilot and the main burner lit, everything ok. But as the fuse had blown said that there is a problem somewhere on the electrics, he then said that one of the bul;bs on the fire front blew last night - BINGO! - happy to leave once i'd replaced the 13amper for a 3.
..but because the pilot was out i got my head on tonight to learn about gas valves and there operation and hence the question.
the 240volts on a gas valve is needed to operate the main burner then and the pilot in (some valves) will stay lit without power?
thats how i understand it - so why did (if it did) the pilot go out when the power went out. I suppose i really need the model number of the valve for this thread to continue?
