I have had problem with pilot light extinguishing, replace pilot hood 'cos the old one was coroded but now I cannot get the pilot to remain lit.
Is there a procedure for resetting the gas valve or do you just leave it for 3 mins or so?
The TC is positioned good in the flame & glows red but when I release gas valve the flame extinguishes. The overheat trip in circuit with the TC has continuity so is it worth purchasing a new TC.
Any help would be appreciated since I dont have a manual etc

keeping the button pressed for about 30 seconds while the pilot is going should be long enough to charge up the valve and keep the pilot on...you checked case seal to make sure pilot is not being blown out?. Try it for a little bit longer if not the thermo electric valve may be shot (unusual though)
