hi had a gate fitted and the remote buttons will open gate fully or they open just for a person to come through, if you call the gate to open then it only opens and closes fully, is there any way to set it to open like the the remote control. I have the NET230N DEA fitted as the control unit

Since the Manchester court case most electricians either specialise in automated gates or will not touch them. The same applies to garage doors, and my father-in-law got an automated garage door, idea clearly was to close the door before walking into the house, but he had the remote control mounted on the hall wall so would press it as he walked in.

The result was he was not viewing the door when it closed, he did once trap a cat in the garage, and the manual release needed a key, so really not very cleaver.

The first thing reading the instructions is
The Seventy Centimetre (70cm) band within the UK is 10MHz wide commencing at 430MHz and extending through to 440MHz. The band is allocated to the Amateur Service with Secondary status and includes additional restrictions in parts of the band.
and it uses 433 Mhz right in the middle of the ham band. I know I hardly use the band any more, so where I live unlikely to be a problem. However Essex is rather flat, so the worry is what safe guards are in place to stop it working when not safe to do so.

So you need to call the installer, you need a service plan or other name is get out of jail free card, let them do any mod, so if anything goes wrong your not the guy in court.

Partial opening is a different input on the gate operator , what are you using to fully open the gate ?

i have a sim card in there, if you call the gate it opens fully and then shuts after 1 minute of the sensors not being walked through. the remote has the top button as open fully, then it closes after a minute and the bottom button it opens about a metre but we have to push it again to shut it, cant do the same from a phone call. im going to try to insta;l meross garage opener on it tomorro

hundreds of millions of devices use 433Mhz. I have used it since 2001 in any project that required simple low data exchanges like on-off.
Exceptional low power and I have tested over 3 miles.
RFM02-433-D is solid and costs around $1.2...only £1.84 in the UK.

I've had to call the gate installer today, daughter opened the gate with the fob, it now will not close with the app or the fob, it has power. Literally had it a few days and im getting bad vibes :) Are they always this unreliable

433Mhz is the most reliable RF com link you can have. You opened the gate so the transmitter and receiver work. I would now be looking for interference from another device on the same channel (unlikely) or you have some shielding that is interfering with the signal. You can buy a device from ebay that will work on usb and discover all devices and the channels they operate on and by leaving it on, the freqency (i.e. how often) they are used. Some old devices (phones) tend to hog bands and multicast all the time)
