having recently rented a property 2 months ago, all was fine until we ran hot water, a sound like a plane going overhead was coming from the system. Its a GEM gas boiler and seems to have given up the ghost three days ago, there is no pilot light and overheat reset button is showing red, the water pressure was at zero. have raised water pressure but cant find a reset button or switch anywhere, any ideas??

If you are renting the property, call the landlord, you don't have to pay for having your boiler fixed.
I don't know exactly were the reset button would be on that kind of boiler, but take the front cover off and there should be a red button somewhere.
