Neighbour's boiler had cut out due to low water pressure.

I have re-pressured the system, but presumably I need to reset the boiler itself.

Big black box on the boiler has the thermostat knob for water temperature and there is also a chrome nut and shaft mounted on the box with a metal pin in the hollow shaft which looks like it could have had a button over it.

Is this the reset for the water pressure ? , and is reset procedure to hold it in till the boiler fires (with appropriate triggers set) , or just to press it once ?

Can't find a manual anywhere...

thanks

A picture paints a thousand words. There is no water pressure switch, but if the water pressure was low, it could have tripped the limit thermostat. I do not recognise the box from your description, but if the shaft is it, a press should re engage it and you should here it click.
