Getting a cold water tap in the garage

Hello people,
I would like to put a washing machine and maybe a sink in the garage. And would appreciate some advice on what to buy and do. I thought i'd add a second outside tap and use that. I assume it'll be plastic pipe but wondered what make and what bits to buy etc. The garage is detached so will run it under ground a few metres. Many thanks.

It's not a problem getting the water in - it's a problem getting the waste water away - not into a rainwater drain - so more info. pics. of house needed please.
