Thinking about removing spindles on stairs in hall and replacing with 10mm safety glass so that the hall appears more open, the top rail is fitted to the wall at one end and a 60cm post that goes through the ceiling to the floor so the glass size will be about 114x74cm.Before getting the glass cut i intend to get these clamps http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221130031...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_184wt_1111 which have the optional safety pin, these would be fitted top and bottom along the 114cm edges, will they support the glass ok without having the glass drilled and a pin or two fitted or is there a chance of slippage although it would not come out due to the post also i am confused by the BC regs for this apart from stipulating 10mm glass.
It is intended to get the clamps and make a template for the glass merchant to work from and avoid wrong angles etc.
