Hi
I have a micron 50ff boiler with an intermittent fault, when heating hot water to my Systemate2000 it runs fine when demand is requested.
When heating demand kicks in, it runs fine for about 4 mins, then trips out, ie something is telling it to stop, however since the house is still cold it immediately tries to restart, then it goes into a cycle start /stop/reset start/ stop reset start over and over again for about 1-2mins 30 times a minute reckon, then after 2 mins or so it starts up again for 3 or 4 mins and off it goes again stop reset start / stop reset start, it can do this for hours on end. This also causes the pumps in the systemate to start stop also which concerns me as i think it will knacker them then i am in a whole world of pain.
But then all of a sudden it works perfectly for a day or two with no issues.
Any one got any idea of the fault, i have check the cause table on the gloworm manual but i am not getting a match. I have a slow reset light as it resets and tries to start, then resets again over and over.
One useful bit of info maybe, when it is in this sequence of start stop, and i turn the the thermostat down ie remove the central heating demand, it still stays in the start stop loop, it seem to ignore the fact i have stopped requesting heat via the thermostat.
Any help would be appreciated. I have a service booked for Friday in two days time (02nd December 2016) i just want an idea of the issue so i know what the service engineer needs to do and an idea of cost.
I can get a one off fix from glowworm for £199. so i need to work out local repair man or 199 from glowworm which is cheaper?
Regards Stu
