Global mass rearmament

His stated ambition is to recreate the Russian Empire.
He can put it across to say what he likes, the top and bottom of it is to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO and that involves him taking Ukraine to recreate Russia so that they cannot.

You are very trusting!

A lot of talk has been echoed about him wanting to get back to the USSR and Poland will be next. He has never said that, Also Finland joined NATO pretty sharpish so he didnt try it out on them. He would not attack a NATO country. He is mad and all the rest of it but he isn't insane

And just for the record for everyone, I am not trying to argue here about this and say this to be awkward, it is just fact and my opinion. Not just my opinion of course. A lot of Military strategists are under the same conclusion along with military generals

Do you think that justifies his invasion? Why shouldn't an independent sovereign nation join whatever clubs they like?

Moving NATO troops into Ukraine (by invitation) when Russia got ready to invade.
but that is involving NATO troops fighting, then it snowballs from there on. How would anyone feel if Chinese troops were put on the Eussian border before hand.

It is the strategic positioning of Ukraine that has caused this. I understand and agree with your statement but unfortunately Ukraine is a step too far as NATO membership is surrounding Russia. They don't see it this way.

All Poo Tin has done is massively increase his exposure to NATO countries on his borders by forcing Finland to join. He has wound up, by his invasion, with what he didn't want in the first place.

Most clubs have rules, one such rule of NATO is that a country applying cannot currently have border disputes. Another rule is approval of an applying member has to be unanimous, Turkey have good relations with Russia which they won't want to jeopardise.

He has stopped Ukraine being allowed to join NATO
