While the direct consequence of a 50% reduction of atmospheric CO2 may not instantly kill every single plant on the planet overnight, the impact of removing even half of the flora to the ecosystem would be a catastrophe of a global scale.
That is another reason why rational debate on this subject is so difficult. People are indoctrinated with the global warming mantra and resort to pedantic semantics rather than seeking facts based on sound scientific principles.
