I've scanned the pages here and it seems for gloss on gloss to work,

1. rub down
2. undercoat
3. gloss

My question is this, how much of a rub down?
Do I need to get off all the gloss paint before undercoat, or just key it?
The edges of the woodwork in question are almost bare of paint in places
but most of the gloss - approx 80% of it - is ok. I'ts going to be a dusty nightmare to take it all off.

Thanks

Better off with a light sand with a 120 grit paper then wiping it down with sugar soap and then undercoat and gloss.

Keying usually does more harm than good as the scratches are usually still evident.

Better to use wet 'N' dry with water and then sugar soap afterwards to make sure.
