Hi all

I'm hoping that you good folks out there will hold my hand as I decorate my bathroom and hallway. I'm a complete novice but a quick learner :D

I have given the doors and skirting in my hallway a really good sanding. I have dulux non-drip white gloss at the ready.

My question is what do I need to do before I apply the gloss. I take it I need to wash down the woodwork to remove the dust I created sanding.

Any advice, gratefully received - thanks :D

give it all a good wipe down no need to soak it though
spot prime any bare wood , then give it all a coat of oil based undercoat,
then you can gloss ,assuming you dont need to fill or caulk anything, if you do , do it before you undercoat :D

I agree with Benno. Sand the undercoat very lightly with 120 grit paper before you gloss.
