This is a 24year old Spacesaver 75 'S' plan system.Been a problem for some time but is getting worse and recent descaling & flushing made no difference. When thermostat switches the boiler off, the pump continues but does not disperse the heat, so gurgling water very noisily pushes up in both the feed and expansion pipes into the F & E tank and out of the overflow. Turning up the room stat stops the noises as the heat disperses but leaves air in the uppermost rads. Is air getting into the system on the 'over-run' or could the boiler be so sludged up it needs replacing? Advice gratefully received.
