Hi all,

I am going to drain our Gloworm 38CXI this weekend so that I can re-route some of the radiator pipework.

Are there any specific things I need to take note of with this type of boiler?

In our old house we had a Valliant boiler and all I did was turn it off, drain the rads, and then top up when finished.

Many thanks in advance.

I would just isolate the boiler so that only the rads and then I would continue to use the boiler for hot water.

But the manufacturers would probably say the they don't recommend doing that so I cannot advise you to do it but it is what I would do!

The filling valves on those cxi's sometimes go wrong, you go to open them and they don't let any water in.

Take care not to force it, be lucky and perchance it does go wrong you may consider fitting a conventional filling loop.
