gloworm spacesaver 50 bf mk1, time for a new boiler

Hi guys , i need your expertise please,i think the gas valve has had it on my boiler , iwas checking for a suspected gas leak and have traced it to the main injector for the burner , when the boiler is not fired up but in the on position , there is a small flow of gas just about blows a bubble when soap suds are applied , as it is the main injecter i lit it and it is the equvilent of a small candle flame,if i blow the pilot out the gas flow stops , also if i turn the gas valve to pilot it stops the flow,has the gas valve had it, i doubt i woould get a replacement boiler is working fine otherwise,

Gas valve is readily available but you really shouldnt be messing around with it

Hi thanks for the quick reply, i couldnt see a replacement online, is there a universal one available,

my neighbour is a gas engineer i will ask him tommorrow if he could fit it,i dont really want to scrap the boiler if it can be repared a a reaonable cost

after more checking by boiler has abspestos in it. so it needs to go.any advise on how to get this done its a glowworm spacesaver 50 mk 1 cana gas engineer do this or does it need a specialist

Asbestos inside the boiler is not a reason to change it.

thanks . i have been debating wether to change it for a while and have decided i am going to now
