My early 60's bungalow has a gable ended traditional cut roof, the span from plate to plate is 7.5m and height from underside of ridge board to plate level measures 2.18m - this works out to be approx 30 degree pitch. Does this profile have potential for conversion to good usable living space, given the dimensions?
Assume I'll need to install 8 inch joists alongside the existing 4 inch ceiling joists, which will raise the floor level. Also assume will need to pack out the rafters with rigid insulation, which will eat into the room height some more?
Would most building designers consider this a none starter?
