Google nexus 5 the iPhone killer

You can cut your old sim to size using templates online...

You are joking, surely? I can't believe you can cut bits off a SIM card and expect it to work!

Anyway, thanks everyone for all the useful information.

So when that little nestle tie up expires, will the next OS be called cheerios??

Groan!

Well from memory we've had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread (my favourite version), Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, and now KitKat, notice they all ran in alphabetical order too. Who knows what the next version will be codenamed other than it'll come after K and will be from the Nestle stable, once the tie in ends then google i guess will just come up with some stupidly mad names as before

Amazing! I assume, then, that full-sized SIM cards are basically just micro-SIM cards in a larger plastic container. So why do manufacturers bother with the full-sized ones?

Edit: One other question, if I may. I've never liked Apple iPhones because there's no way to change the battery when it loses its ability to hold its charge. Does the Google Nexus 5 have provision for changing the battery?

The n4 doesn't so I guess the 5 doesn't either. That's the biggest drawback but many phones are like that these days.

I like the naked Android, free of any skins, like Samsung's Touchwiz.

It's the same with my Nexus 7.

Yep, the OS versions are all in alphabetical order, so the next one begins with L. They're all sweet things, so start guessing!

Yes much preferred the unadulterated versions, like HTC's sense.

I think were going to struggle with the L, a quick google for nestle products only comes back with 'Lion', pretty poor codename for the next version IMO

Here's my list. We'll have to see if any of them come true!!

L - Licorice
M - Macaroon
N - Nougat
O - Oreo Cookies
P - Pumpkin Pie
Q - Queen Of Puddings
R - Rice Pudding
S - Spotted Dick
T - Treacle Tart
U - Upside Down Cake
V - Victoria Sponge
W - Walnut Whip
X - Xango Juice
Z - Zucchini Muffins

Yes thats all well and good but they need to be Nestle brands not just any old chocolate/biscuits or desserts :D

Not really, Kitkat is the only Nestle product they have used, it can be any food brand.

This is one for the tech bods, securespark and maybe even EddieM, decent spec and priced pretty well too and it has the latest OS 'Kit-Kat' after google signed a deal with Nestle so expect later OS's to be named after more biscuits, before the tie in the next OS was going to be 'Lime pie'

Any, i might well treat myself to this one

No of absolutely no use to me, I neither want or would use a tablet.... unless i had a headache.

Calm down Ed!

The Nexus 5 is a smartphone, not a tab...

The Nexus 7 is the tablet.

And if you swallowed that bu gger, you would have a headache!
