Gorgeous Sunset This Evening Over Bramhall

That's amazing - the colour & flatness of the water - WOW!!

Last visited Scillys in 1980......

Cornwall is oft-visited - we started going there in 1974 when my GP's retired to Little Petherick, then Rock.

The journey in those early days was something else. No duals & no by-passes. 14 hours was common.... :(

I don't mind being called an emmet, BTW!!!

Blimey, we did Bristol to Kendal (late 60's early 70's) - towing a little caravan in 9.5 hrs, including an unnecessary trip halfway around the Gloucester by-pass, en-route to the fledgling M5
Oh, and that included, siting the van, erecting an awning (no mean feat) and legging it down the local pub (1st time caravaneers but very experienced at the bar )!
Scotland was great -- Skye - magic...
Now about that sea trip from perhaps Arran right around the islands to the Shetlands.. One day.

:D

There was my poor Mum & three of us kids, between 8 and 14 yo....that probably added to the journey.

OK. In that case, I don't mind being an emmet. As long as you can be Pretani...

There was four of us, an Alsation and a mongrel, with the former sitting nowhere else except behind driver licking his right lug 'ole ... 8 to 14 y/o's had nothing on our motely crew ! But that was the fun of the whole thing - No germanic route march, just a meander, at times in the right direction.
:D
