Hi, had a few bad experiences with plumbers over the past few months and being a mechanical engineering student i figure that i might be able to handle this one myself... with a little help

I bought the house 4 years ago and the shower has just stopped working.

Triton TX8000

I've taken the cover off and power is getting to all the individual parts, its an electric shower and i think it might be the valve thats stopped working?

The shower was on when it stopped which leaves me a little confused. It was on for about 10minutes, then stopped for 5 seconds - the red 'no pressure' light coming on - then started again and worked till i finished showering - about 5 minutes.

my girlfriend had no such luck the next day when it stopped mid shower and wouldn't come on again.

Would it be the valve thats broken and just needs to be replaced? is there a way i can test for this problem and confirm it before i order new parts.

There's not really anything else it can be (other than PCB), but if you isolate the water supply to the shower unit, and then uncouple the inlet, you can test (by getting an assistant to turn the water back on) to see whether or not the supply up to the shower is OK.
