The plumber broke the hinge. This door has a heavy mirror on it, I was thinking of just changing the hinge ( like for like) or possibly putting three on . Shall I try and unscrew the mirror with grips? It hasnt been off in twenty years though and has silver round ball bearing heads so hard to grip on glass side, where it's screwed in 20200724_192249.jpg 20200724_192244.jpg 20200724_191940.jpg

It's gotta be easier to hang with mirror off. Do u think try some grips gently if fingers won't get them off? I guess those euro hinges require drilling a hole into the mdf

Why not ask the plumber to fix it, if he broke it?

you can get Kitchen Hinge Repair Plates to reinforce the side of the cabinet. They use Euroscrews. Buy a few dozen.

You can also get a reinforcement plate for the door, with the hole in it, but they are less common.

If you are buying new hinges, the Blum ones now clip on, and can be removed from the cabinet plate by releasing a catch with your thumb. Very convenient.

If you can't twist the dome caos off with your fingers wear a rubber glove. Something like Marigolds give a decent grip.
Don't use these disposable ones a woman gets with her hair dye. They are more of a cellophane thing with no grip at all.

I use air wedges all the time for hanging and removing doors on my lonesome.
