I have a Grant boiler installed 2006 and seem to have had a constant stream of issues with it. The most irritating is the boiler not firing up properly. The problem always starts with it not firing for hot water on demand, (though heating is OK) initially intermittent then gets more frequent. Switching off & on at the mains resets something because it then fires up. Situation gets slowly worse over a couple of weeks, eventually refusing to fire even for heating. Only way to get it to fire is to switch off at the mains, leave an hour or so then switch on again.
My boiler engineer has replaced a small circuit board that is on the top/front of the boiler (this one is labelled TEK463) and now it's working fine again. He says this is a common fault on this model and he has at least 3 others showing the same problem. This is the 3rd board I have had in as many years and I'm getting really fed up with this boiler. Always seems to be a problem following the summer when I begin to use the heating again. Anyone else had this? Any thoughts as to cause?
