I have the boiler in the title and it sound like there is air I he hot water store, I believe the automatic air vent has failed due to scaling as our water is very hard. The part is cheap and accessible but what is the procedure to change it. Any help greatly appreciated.

Isolate the boiler flow and return and release the pressure the pressure. Unscrew the vent and fit the new one. Open up the flow and return and repressurise the system. Once you have bled the heatstore, close off the air vent. If you get more air in there, open up the vent and close it again once bled.
