Hi. I am new here, so please forgive me if if this is in the wrong place etc.

I am looking to purchase a new tap. The description quotes "Not suitable for a gravity fed system". This is a kitchen tap. The cold supply is straight off the main and the hot is fed from the hot water cylinder, which seems to be fairly good pressure too.

Does this mean that you shouldn't actually use this unless you have a combi boiler, i.e. full mains pressure from hot and cold? Any thoughts as to weather this will work on my system? Are the manufacturers a bit over cautious?

Any comments will be greatly appreciated. More information on the tap here: http://www.screwfix.com/p/moretti-aria-mono-mixer-kitchen-tap/37600

That is correct - not suitable for gravity fed hot water. one of the reasons is the way in which it blends the hot and the cold - mains pressure cold water could prevent hot water from flowing.
