Hi everyone.

I am more of a gardener than a DIY person. And I'm aiming to move my 2 greenhouses to make more space.

The area of the garden I'm moving them to is flat grass next to a wall.

I was wondering how far down I would have to dig. Should I use hard core and then concrete it over? (I'm aiming to get ready mix to to pit off).

Any help will be much appreciated. Thx guys

What you would normally do for making a concrete base is make a wooden template the size you require, choose the wood size for the depth of concrete you want, stake this in the ground make sure it is level and then the concrete is poured in levelled and left to harden. The depth is going to depend on the size, you could also line it with a thick plastic sheet before pouring the concrete.

100mm should be enough. 50mm sand and the 50mm grey slabs would be better and possibly cheaper than hardcore and concrete

If you decide to slab then lay them on a solid bed of sharp sand mortar or else the ants will build houses under them. Next thing you will have the Himalayas instead of a flat base.
