Hi All, We have 28i Junior that shows now error lights, when powerd on at the mains the fan spins for about 15-20 seconds, then stops, the blue light is stable and no other lights flash etc, the fan the runs for out 1/2 second and continues to do this, a engineer diagnosed the fan as being faulty, he sad the whole unit needs replacing and the fan was s sealed unit and the speed controller could not be replaced, and that the top of the combustion chamber will need to be removed to replace the fan.

I have searched the forum and google , youtube etc , I know the motor PCB is available:

https://www.nationalboilerparts.co....530-87161160670-replacement-fan-pcb-only-new/

does the combustion need dismantling to replace the fan?

Thanks in advance

Gaz

Yes it needs to be removed still, very much a gas safe registered job.

Thank you for the clarification on forum rules, I just wanted to confirm the the information I was given was correct, I was told the fan was a 'sealed' unit and the fan speed controller was not replaceable, 2 minutes on Google shows otherwise, happy to pay for a registered engineer to do the work.

Don't believe everything you see on the internet, call the boiler manufacturer or a GSR.
