Greenstar 8000 noise

Hello,
We had a Greenstar 8000 life installed a few months ago and it’s worked flawlessly over the winter months, we’re very happy with it and have no complaints.

Recently however, we’ve noticed a fairly loud humming noise coming from it periodically- maybe once per hour - when neither the hot water or heating are in use.

I’m only asking for advice as we’ve not really noticed it prior to the last few weeks, and it seems to be louder and more often than when we initially noticed it.

Is this something that’s normal ?

Any unusual noise form a boiler, that wasn't there before isn't normal no. Whether it's an issue or not would require a visit from a professional. I'd given the installer a shout, they should at least back up their install and be able to stop in and let you know whether it's a problem or not. It may end up in a warranty call, depending on what it might be.

Ok, thanks, just wasn’t sure if the boiler was maybe doing some form of routine maintenance but guessing not.

Thanks. I have ECO mode turned on for heating and hot water, so from what I’ve read I think preheat is disabled. Hope that’s correct.

Yes Eco means preheat is off. Give the installer a call get them to check it out for you.
