Which bit does it guard exactly? The air intake? Wondering now about all those skyward pointing plume diverters!
My statement exactly Chris.
I would have thought that the flue has been installed wrong and is facing upwards when infact the standard length flue on the Worc should be fitted horizontal as the inner flus is already angled due to clever design unlike Ideals for example :!:

Stan

the flue must look upwards as the internal slope isnt great enough, as i found out with my GW hxi (same flue).

Thing is Rob somebody will read what you have said and presume that its O.K to fit a glowworm flue to a Worcester :!:
They might be bloody similar but thats not to say that its right

From the instructions you get, which don't specifically cover the telescopic flue, I couldn't really decide for sure whether you should fit the flue horizontally, or sloping up 3 degrees. I think they meant horizontally as it's the terminal bit, which has an internal slope. Given my core drill aiming skills mine (new a month ago) went up, "a bit"!
It had a black end. The outer is well protected but the inner has the twisty diverting option so could be pointed upwards.

i dont think they will..its obselete now and been updated apparantley

the problem was with the original flue the internal slope wasnt great enough and fan pressure would still cause it to drip.
