Last year mum had a new boiler, it developed a fault and stopped working in bad weather. The flue vents from the roof. After 17 (yes 17) call outs eventually a second new boiler was fitted. Now this weekend in the high winds the new boiler has stopped working and won't reset. Could this be a flue problem?

make/model of boiler/system ?

edit. just read post header.........................

i`ll `get ma coat

Had a new(ish) worcester yesterday that stopped, and wouldn't reset, found rain water laying inside and had got on the gas valve plug, which sits right on the base and has a channel that runs right under it - what a cr4p design.
It worked fine after being dried out.

Thanks for your posting - was this a problem with a vertical flue?
Is there a way to resolve this?
The engineer is calling tomorrow and we need to resolve this... mum is 84 with no heating or hot water!! :(

Who actually replaced the second boiler?

Which part of East Timor are you living in?

Hi the manufacturer replaced the boiler, as the fault could not be rectified, but now it has reoccured and the key feature is the bad weather - :?

Its difficult to guess what the problem actually is.

There are very few of that model fitted with a vertical flue and I have to say I am always suspicious of sonw od these vertical flues as they seem to be easy to let rain water in under less common weather conditions.
