Went to a Grohedal pneumatic dual flush valve today, and I'm not familiar with these. Pushing the buttons on the flush plate doesn't flush the toilet any more, but if you pull up on the moving part of the valve it flushes perfectly. As usual with these things, access is by feel rather than seeing much.

Is there a way to test wether it's the flush plate buttons, or the actual valve that's at fault? Also, how do these valves come out of the cistern? Tried twisting it, but I'm assuming that's not how they detach.
