Hi what is the normal practice for electrical cables to the ground floor of a house. Is it OK for cables to lay on the floor/oversite or should they be clipped to the underside of joists.

I am thinking more in regards to potential mice nibbling on them. I hope we don't ever get mice under there but just wondered if people clipped them off the floor for this reason or don't bother

There is no anti mice benefit from clipping, the little critters (and rats) will still need to gnaw.

Cheers. Thought that may be the case. Will leave them on the ground and hope for the best
