grundfos twin pump

Hi guys.
A friend has just called me and he had a plumber in yesterday who fitted a grundfos twin impeller pump to boost his gravity bath/shower. The problem he is experiencing is that when he fills the bath the pump does kick in but, when he lifts up the diverter valve to take a shower the pump does not start.
Any idea why? Sorry do not know the model of pump. Thank u for your help.
 
Not enough flow to trigger the switch.

Wrong pump, or blocked shower head.
