Grundfos UPS2

Can these new style Grundfos pump heads be used in a combi boiler with the old style Grundfos pump.

I always thought not but I over heard someone in Plumb Center today saying he was away to fit it to his Vokera Unica. (Pump head only)

They come with the flying lead connected and the connector box, should replace almost all standard, ie not modulating, pump heads.

If the boiler accepted the old UPS then yes providing it has the suppressor fitted to either the PCB or the lead.

Which they should have on the PCB by now.

Ah right, the last Grundfos we fitted had the suppressor on the flying lead (that's why I thought you couldn't fit onto a combi/system boiler)

Are they now moving these suppressors onto the pump so they can be interchanged with the older Grundfos pumps then.

Yes - you can tell that the modification has been made by the part number on the box.

I'll have a spy the next time I purchase a pump.

I wouldn't fit a ups2 to any combi.

Far to many issues occur after one has been fitted, mostly board faults.

Nope, we have a rapidly growing list of boilers that the ups2 isn't compatible with.

I wouldn't either, just order a proper grundfos head off a Worcester 350 for 60 odd quid.
