Gu10 lamp holder missing sleeve

Hi can I use this lamp holder wires are unbroken but one has lost its outer sleeve the actual wire is still coated ?View attachment 233519

You need the sleeve really, especially if a halogen lamp is to be used.

The sleeve is heat proof and so protects the wires.

You can buy a new lampholder complete with sleeve from Screwfix or B&Queue I should think.

Dependant on the room in the fitting , them holders are now defunct, the newer ones are similar but have cable restraint as well as the double sleeve.
Both cable restraint and the double sleeve are now part of some new regulation i believe.

For one lamp holder and the price I will just order another one and to be honest I don’t know if the heat shrink is heat proof only used it on car wiring. Thanks for the reply
