Gurgling noises are coming from an oil tank. I have just replaced the oil pump, on a 2 pipe system, and the noises are new according to the owner. Has anybody come across this before?

The oil flows out of the supply pipe under gravity if the tank is more than half full, and there no leaks visible in the pipework. I have cut an anti-siphon slot in the return pipe, would this cause the problem?

no

are there any nrv,s?? one in supply and one in return?

you did fit the screw??....yeh i know that is a rather large egg to suck.

There is the usual nrv in the supply pipe, but not in the return pipe (in common with normal practice).

I did fit the screw, but forgot the egg.

 yes, ...of ostrich size dimensions.

anyway, i often think on some installations....why have they got 2 pipe systems??? why not, try single pipe. i look at some wallstars, tank miles away and single pipe...

That's a thought. The original pump was one of the MLSA type which had a sucking problem, but with the 21 L 3, I could get rid of the return pipe. Thanks.
