Hi all

One stretch of gutter goes right across the front of our house and that of our neighbours.... We both have our own downpipes at opposing far ends. See:

You cannot see their house properly to the right, but I promise it is there behind the bush!!! The downpipe on their house is in the same place as it is on ours.

Anyhow, my question is whether there is something we can get to put in the middle of the gutter so that rather than being one long stretch, it is divided into their side and our side?

Whilst I'm here, what are the opinions around here on those leaf/debris downpipe guard things?

Many thanks

Max

Yes, fit two stops ends back to back in the centre.

If leaf debris is an issue you may be better off fitting a gulley at the base of the downpipe to collect the crud, the gutter guards will just collect the debris and block. Do you really want to be up and down ladders clearing the gutters, especially when its lashing down and the water is pouring down the walls because the leafguard in the gutter/downpipe is bunged up? Got to be easier (IMHO!) cleaning out a gulley at ground level, suck the crud out with a wet/dry vac.

you will need to fix it so the middle is high and both ends are low, with a steady fall.
