Our gutter has become loose (handy visual aid attached). I plan to shimmy up a ladder and fix it... my question is, will it just click back in to place or does it require some glue/sealant to stick it back together?

Thanks :)

Slide it back up need be. Secure with a short screw, long ones will encourage blocking.
If you glue it and the bends get blocked then you have avoidable hassle... screw it!
If the whole pipe has slipped A short screw in the brackets too

The DP brackets are not doing their job. The whole swan neck assembly will need screwing otherwise one secure screw will just lead to the next joint slipping.

Add a couple more DP brackets but keep the drill holes a wee bit closer together than what the relaxed state of the clip measures. We drop a clip onto a short piece of down pipe and squeeze it then measure the distance across the hole centres.
